Taken from a 1949 SPORT magazine photo session arranged to accompany a story on the Toast of the Coast, the Human Orchid, Gorgeous George. Perhaps the best-known professional wrestler in history, he brought showbiz to the sport and was one of the biggest stars in the early days of television.
