Image depicts the running style of Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch that wowed fans at Wisconsin and later with the Chicago Rockets of the All-American Football Conference (as pictured) and NFL Los Angeles Rams. Hirsch's nickname came courtesy of a Chicago sportswriter, who after a1942 game wrote that he ran "like a demented duck ... his crazy legs were gyrating in six different directions, all at the same time." Image is from original 4" by 5" transparency taken for SPORT magazine.
