Installed as the new coach of the Boston Bruins, Lynn Patrick meets with team captain Milt Schmidt early in the 1950-51 season. The son of Hall of Famer Lester Patrick, Lynn coached for five seasons before becoming the team's general manager. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1980, and his son, Craig Patrick, was inducted in 2001. Schmidt had a Hall of Fame career as well, spending his entire career with the Bruins. During the 1954-55, he switched from active player to coach, and spent 11 more years as coach in Beantown.
