Limited Edition Giclée Fine Art Archival Print. Number in Edition: 50.
It wasn't until November 1, 1959 that a National Hockey League goalie began wearing a mask regularly. That man, of course, was the Montreal Canadiens' Jacques Plante. But in previous seasons, other goalies had experimented with masks in practice. Here, Detroit Red Wings' Hall of Famer Terry Sawchuk tries out a clear plastic protector made by Delbert Louch of St. Mary's, Ontario. Photographed by Bob Benyas for SPORT magazine, this very rare print is made from the original 2 1/4" transparency. NOTE: As a security feature, images that appear on the website contain a watermark ("The SPORT Gallery") that is placed across each image. This watermark is a web security feature only and does not appear on the finished product. Image size is 13.5" wide x 9" high, and total print size including title and emboss is 15.5" wide x 11" high. Framed size is 23.5 x 18". The SPORT Collection
