Toronto St. Pats Bart Long Sleeve

The Toronto “St. Pats” was the name of Toronto’s NHL team in from 1919-27. They had previously been owned by Arena Company, and were known as the “Arenas”  but the team went bankrupt and pulled out of the league after just two seasons. The team was bought by a group of investors with links to an amateur club called the “St. Patricks,” and so they re-named the team the St. Patricks. They won the Stanley Cup in 1922. Toronto’s NHL team was called the St. Pats until 1927 when the franchise was sold to another group of investors, including Conn Smythe and renamed Toronto Maple Leafs–the name the team still holds today.
